A tornado destroyed my home.
Technically it was listed as a high velocity straight wind. Whatever the semantics,
the wind set my mobile home in the middle of my car. I was so thankful. We were
a mile down the road when it happened. How long does it take to drive a mile?
That is the difference in my children being safe or me losing them. It was
raining and turned cold. My shoes froze to the ground. When you picked them up,
the tops came off in your hand and the soles remained frozen to the ground.
Hard part was my church did not step
up to help. The neighbors across the street and friends down the road came to
help with the cleanup. The neighbor across the road, her church brought food as
well. My church did not show up. Where was their Christian spirit?
Odd thing was my old love letters
were blown more than 35 miles away. How do I know? People returned them to me.
I found my credit cards in the garden.
I learned a valuable lesson, people
are more important than things.
